1. Overview & Data Controller

Founders North (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the digital publication and curated daily briefing service located at foundersnorth.com. For the purpose of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and international privacy statutes, Founders North acts as the Data Controller of the personal data you provide when subscribing to our briefing.

2. Personal Data We Collect

Under our principle of strict data minimization, we collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our service:

  • Email Address: Voluntarily submitted by you when subscribing through our website forms.
  • Subscription Metadata: Timestamps of when you joined or unsubscribed, and a unique cryptographic 1-click unsubscribe token.

We do not collect names, home addresses, phone numbers, payment details, or sensitive personal data categories.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Article 6)

We process your email address under the legal basis of Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). By submitting your email address in our subscription form and confirming your subscription, you grant explicit consent for Founders North to send our daily morning briefing digest. You maintain the absolute right to revoke this consent at any time.

4. How We Use Your Data

Your email address is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Delivering the curated Founders North Daily Briefing every morning at 7:30 AM ET.
  • Sending an initial welcome email confirming your subscription.
  • Processing voluntary unsubscription or preference requests.

We do not engage in behavioral advertising, programmatic ad-tracking, or cross-site behavioral profiling.

5. Third-Party Service Providers (Sub-Processors)

To operate our service securely and reliably, we partner with trusted, SOC-2 and ISO-compliant infrastructure providers:

  • Google Cloud (Firestore): Secure, encrypted cloud database hosting subscriber records.
  • Resend Inc.: Enterprise email delivery API utilized to dispatch the daily briefings and welcome emails.
  • Vercel Inc.: Global edge hosting infrastructure for the website application.

6. Functional Storage & Cookies

Founders North does not utilize third-party advertising or marketing tracking cookies. We utilize strictly necessary client-side local storage (under the key fn_subscriber_email) solely to remember that you have already subscribed on this browser, so our interface does not repeatedly disrupt your reading experience with subscription prompts. You can clear this browser storage at any time through your browser settings.
